The goal of a certificate program is to get you back to work as soon as possible. Industry has indicated that there are skilled jobs going unfilled in our area. This certificate program is developed to train you for these skilled jobs.   Mandatory testing is required prior to start date. This program also includes 36 hours of mandatory professional development in both classroom and online material. Professional development assignments must be sucessfully completed in order obtain CNC Certification.

Covers: Basic CAD commands; Lines; Circles; Trim; Fillets; Arcs; Offsets; Arrays. Students gain experience moving, copying, performing extensions, and various other commands. Participants will also learn to save files as DXF and DWG formats, plot a file, dimension a drawing, make a drawing template with different layers, and insert a border into a file. Uses Auto Cad LT.

This course is designed for anyone from a manufacturing setting who must interpret engineering specifications found on mechanical drawings. Participants are introduced to common ANSI drafting principles used to communicate information to the interpreter, with a strong focus on the development of visualization skills needed to obtain information from various orthographic projection views. Topics include: Parts of a print, line conventions, orthographic projection, linear and angular dimensioning systems, coordinate tolerancing systems, detail and assembly prints, sectional and detailed views, machined details and elements, introduction to geometric tolerances, pictorial drawings, welding and precision sheet metal prints, and first angle projection. Participants are encouraged to bring prints from their work place for use in the classroom. Prerequisite: Technical Math I.
